Good questions. Clear next steps.
Practical information before your first guitar lesson.
About your lessons.
Can I start as an absolute beginner?
Yes. Private lessons are tailored to your current level, including starting from scratch. Tell John what you would like to play and whether you already have a guitar.
Where are in-person lessons held?
Lessons are in Greenside, Johannesburg. Ask John for the exact location and practical details, including access and parking, before your visit.
Can I learn online?
Yes, online lessons are available. You will need a guitar, a device with a camera and microphone, and a reliable internet connection. Agree the video platform and test your sound with John before the lesson.
What happens at the free first lesson?
Your first lesson is free. Enquire about a suitable time and tell John about your experience and goals. John will confirm the duration, format and arrangements with you before you attend.
Do I need my own guitar?
Tell John whether you have a guitar when you enquire. Check instrument requirements for your chosen format before booking or buying equipment.
What can I work on?
Lessons can cover technique, stylistic playing, composition and songwriting, theory, reading music and improvisation. Choose a goal with John so that the lessons match your interests.
Are lessons available for children?
Ask John about suitability for the student’s age and experience. A parent or guardian should make the enquiry for a child.
How do payments and rescheduling work?
Confirm payment arrangements, monthly-package details and cancellation or rescheduling terms with John before committing to lessons.
Does an enquiry reserve a lesson time?
No. Times are requests until John confirms the arrangements with you. The published timetable is dated and may have changed.
